Coatings
Nitrocellulose
Lacquers
Nitrocellulose lacquer is a fast dry finish that was the wood
industry standard for decades. This coating provides easy application
with exceptional rich look and film clarity. Nitrocellulose
Lacquers are available in clear and pigmented systems.
Pre-Catalyzed Reactive Amino Coatings
(RACs)
An upgraded product to a nitrocellulose lacquer, modified to
include a catalyst that makes the finish chemically resistant
to such things as water, alcohol and food spills. This product
applies and dries similar to nitrocellulose lacquer. The catalyst
is added during the manufacturing process and does not require
addition by the finisher. Pre-catalyzed RACs are available in
clear and pigmented versions.
Post-Catalyzed Reactive Amino Coatings
(RACs)
Reactive Amino Coatings can include conversion varnishes and
catalyzed lacquers. RACs are premium products that are used
in modern industry today. These high build finishes provide
tremendous toughness, yet are very economical when used on a
variety of wood products. They require that the finisher catalyze
the material to provide the properties to the finished coating.
They are available in clear and pigmented finishes.
Vinyl Finishes
Vinyl coatings are tough films that have exceptional flexibility
characteristics. They are used as sealers for catalyzed coatings
as well as specialty topcoats. They provide excellent colour
stability and dry very fast. They are used as laboratory furniture
coatings and institutional finishes where resistance to chemicals
and abrasion are required.
Polyester Coatings
A very hard and durable finish that is used primarily to achieve
the “wet look” desirable in fashion design today.
It is a plural component finish, which gives the exceptional
high build to a high gloss finish that no other coating can.
Polyurethanes
Polyurethanes give superior gloss and durability in a premium
finish. These 2 component coatings are acid and formaldehyde
free. Finishers use these coatings to produce a high quality
finish for top quality projects. They are available in both
clear and pigmented systems.
UV Coatings
UV coatings are very high solid finishes that may be sprayed,
curtain coated or roller coated on a wide variety of products.
These materials are cured by ultraviolet (UV) light in a very
short time period. Typical uses are wood flooring, paper, flat
stock parts (gables, drawer boxes, etc.) and plastic auto parts.
Water Borne Finishes
Water based finishes are important in reducing the threat of
environmental concerns. Chemcraft International uses the latest
in coatings technology to develop water-based systems to assist
you in achieving compliancy. We offer a complete line of water
based materials to meet your finishing line requirements.
Low Discoloration Products
Low discoloration finishes have been developed in most of the
above mentioned product lines. These materials can also contain
UV inhibitors to ensure the utmost in colour stability for the
system. Contact your local technical office for the recommended
finishing system for your application.
PVC and Wood Window & Door Coatings
and Adhesives
From Rhenocoll we offer superior products for the window and
door manufacturing industry. PVC coatings are a one-component
waterborne coating specifically for PVC profiles and windows.
The wood window and door products include water-based thin layer
impregnation primer and intermediate & top coating sprays.
The wood window and door adhesive is a single component waterborne
glue with excellent water and temperature resistance.
